Rear Suspension, Brakes and Differential.
Both ERA 427 and FIA roadsters
utilize a Jaguar-based differential and rear suspension with in-board
rear disc brakes. For those not interested in sourcing and
rebuilding their own, fully rebuilt assemblies can be purchased from
"the Works". Those with competition in mind can also opt for the
exceptional ERA designed fully adjustable rear suspension with disc
brakes located outboard as with the original 427 and 289 Cobras.
The ERA assembly manual will help you match your final drive ratios with
your choice of transmission for optimal street or competition
performance.

Front Suspension / Brakes
For those with competition in mind, the
standard front suspension and GM 11"
inch rotors can be supplemented with either
Wilwood or Sierra/JFZ
competition front calipers and Spax coil-over shocks
available from the "Works".

Wheels and Tires
Other than competition and S/C cars, original 427 Cobras were
supplied with
Sunburst Wheels which are currently not
available from any source. Most builders opt for replica
competition-style pin-drive wheels available from Trigo, PS Engineering
. An inexpensive bolt-on look alike is also available from Team
III.
For those seeking the original look, tires
with the proper width and diameter to fill the wheel wells are also
getting more difficult to obtain. |
